To cope up with the challenges posed by Industry 4.0, Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce is offering a new specialisation i.e B.A Economics with Business Analytics from the Academic Year 2022-23. This programme is in association with the Institute of Analytics (IoA). The IoA is a professional body for Analytics and Data Science professionals in the UK.

The student would be studying six papers of Business Analytics and would be awarded a degree of B.A Economics

Business analytics as a specialisation aims to introduce students to big data and immerse them in analytics for business applications. Students who will graduate from this program are expected to have developed skills to describe and predict business situations, and make informed business decisions based on data.

Though the need for manpower with business analytics skills has been increasing at an exponential rate, the supply is low as of now. In an increasingly competitive and interconnected world, companies prefer candidates with the ability not just to crunch numbers but also to understand the data and use it for making strategic decisions to leverage performance as also to deal with fast paced changing business scenarios. Therefore the employment opportunities for students who possess these skills are immense.

Eligibility

The minimum academic requirement for this specialisation is 12th std. with Mathematics.

Procedure for seeking admission

1. Independent merit list will be published based on the marks obtained in 12th std. examination

2. Marks obtained in the subject of mathematics will be one of the deciding factors.

3. After the merit list is published, personal interviews (in offline mode) of the merit listed students will be conducted.

4. The admissions will be finally offered on the basis of the performance in the interview.

Exit Rules

Once admitted, student cannot leave the programme in between.

The students will study 1 paper per Semester i.e total 6 papers related to Business Analytics along with the other papers of Arts stream with Economics specialisation.
